Peter Milton is a master at gaining people's confidence, but once he has extracted what he wants from them he throws them away like a broken toy. He had made himself a very rich man at the expense of others, thinking nothing of causing misery and ruining people's lives for monetary gain. However, that cosy world of his was suddenly destroyed when he was imprisoned for something he didn't do. On completion of his sentence, he was released to the world penniless and homeless and with anger raging inside him for the man whose false evidence had put him there. He was to meet him sooner than he expected. However, in an unexpected turn of events his adversary throws him a lifeline. Peter decided he would use him to climb back up the ladder until this man's usefulness was over and the time was right to exact his revenge. The end result however, was not quite what he had planned for.

This is a difficult book for me to review. The plot is different than anything else I have read and basically all of the characters are bad guys, no good guys in this one. I did mostly enjoy it because of the unique story line (would have enjoyed it more without the poor grammar and typos). For me, another problem was the ending. All scenes in the story were fairly detailed but the ending was done in just 2 pages and didn't really explain how things were left and I still had questions. Good twists and turns but the protagonist is without any redeeming value and therefore not a fully developed character. Disappointing
A band of thieves and murderors who exploit each other for personal gain. Using vigilante justice as justification for their misdeeds. The telling of the tail has you almost convinced it OK.
Just not my kind of story. I only read about 20%.
Don't bother. The editing was more than baddddddd!
Exciting and fun to read I really enjoyed this book a lot. Different than what I'm used to reading , but glad I gave it a chance . Would recommend to everyone
Frist of all doesn't anyone proof read this books? I mean if I can pick out simple mistakes anyone can. It is annoying. Then this book gets you all tangled up in so many dark, dangerous plots and suddenly, poof, the book ends and you still don't know what happened to half the people that where involved with one of the main characters. Not my favorite book.
I enjoyed this book. It was well written the characters were well rounded and the plot line was full of twists and turns. It was interesting to find out which con man comes out on top. Hard to put down.
